“Kidman was responsible for ensuring that I never disclosed pedophile ring activities that I witnessed as a child,” she continued. “He failed. News of Kidman’s death impacted me, someone who has undergone intense treatment. I know that there are other victims of Kidman’s crimes out there who are perhaps not as far along the healing path as I am. I anticipate that news of Kidman’s death may have a serious impact on these victims. A perpetrator’s death can even trigger suicidal ideation.

Dans un entretien publié ce 22 mai dans le Sunday Times, et relayé par Atlantico, le comédien révèle que de jeunes acteurs ont été sexuellement abusés par des « vipères de l’industrie ».

L’acteur américain, qui a débuté sa carrière à l’âge de 8 ans, assure qu’il a été protégé de ces agressions par sa mère, mais il raconte « avoir été entraîné dans des endroits sombres »…

Pour Elijah Wood, une sévère omerta règne à Hollywood :

« Si vous êtes innocent, que vous savez peu de chose sur le monde et que vous voulez réussir, des gens avec des intérêts parasites vous verront comme une proie. »

Et d’ajouter : « Ce qui me chagrine, c’est que les victimes ne peuvent pas s’exprimer aussi fort que les gens qui ont le pouvoir […] Ils peuvent être écrasés et voir leur vie irrémédiablement détruite. »

L’acteur de 35 ans n’est pas le seul à évoquer le sujet. Il y a plusieurs années déjà, Corey Feldman, héros des « Goonies », assurait :

« Le problème numéro un à Hollywood a été, est, et sera toujours la pédophilie. »

Cette affaire fait également écho à d’autres scandales, dont celle de l’acteur Stephen Collins (7 à la maison) – qui a avoué des actes pédophiles –, mais aussi à Woody Allen ou encore Roman Polanski, accusés de faits similaires.
