PHILADELPHIA - The City of Brother Love?
Not for out-of-town members of the media covering the Montreal Canadiens and the Flyers in the Eastern Conference final.
Colleague Pat Hickey of The Gazette left Game 1 and found his car vandalized in the Wachovia Center parking lot, a tire slashed, his Quebec license plate stolen, a stone deflector ripped off and, to top things off, the car splashed with beer.
Before the game, fans ripped the cables from the Societe Radio-Canada remote truck as they were about to do a live report and poured beer into the control panel. Technicians were able to get the crew on the air and the damage was being assessed Monday.
Security has been hired to oversee the vehicle for Game 2.
